Patience: Just Wait
Patience is the ability to remain calm, steady, and faithful while waiting, enduring difficulty, or trusting a process that takes time. It is not always easy to wait, but patience helps us keep the right posture while life is still unfolding.
Definition of the Word
Patience is the ability to stay calm and accept delay, difficulty, or frustration without complaining or losing heart.
Practical Lesson
In our society today, even a slow pace is a fast pace. It seems like everyone is in a rush, and the ability that comes with patience is becoming harder to find. There are many things in life that we aim to accomplish, desire, and even pray for, but the delay in the resolve of the matter can become frustrating.
It is in these moments that we have the perfect opportunity to practice patience. Waiting is not always easy, but it can teach us how to remain calm, think clearly, and keep the right attitude while things are still unfolding.
So I leave you with this encouragement: just wait. You never know how a situation may turn out. However, the ability to be patient can offer better mental alignment while you wait.
Practical Application
This week, practice patience by slowing down your response when things do not happen as quickly as you expected. Before becoming frustrated, take a moment to breathe, think, and adjust your attitude. Ask yourself, “Is this worth losing my peace over?”
Whether you are waiting on an answer, a change, an opportunity, or a breakthrough, choose to stay steady. Do not rush the process just because the waiting feels uncomfortable. Use the waiting season to prepare, reflect, and grow.
Spiritual Application
Spiritually, patience teaches us how to trust God’s timing. Waiting can be uncomfortable because we often want answers quickly, doors to open immediately, and situations to change right away. But God does not always work according to our schedule. Sometimes, He uses the waiting season to mature us, strengthen us, and prepare us for what is next.
Patience is not a sign that nothing is happening. Patience is a sign that we trust God even when we cannot see everything He is doing. While we wait, God is still working behind the scenes. He is shaping our hearts, building our faith, and teaching us how to depend on Him more fully.

Carry This With You
Patience does not mean you are doing nothing. Patience means you are trusting God while you wait. Do not allow frustration to rush you out of faith. Stay calm, stay steady, and just wait.
Prayer
Lord, help me to be patient in the areas of my life where I feel rushed, frustrated, or discouraged. Teach me how to trust Your timing and not become anxious while I wait. Give me strength to remain faithful, peace to stay calm, and courage to believe that You are still working. Help me to remember that waiting is not wasted when my trust is in You. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
