Perseverance: Keep Going
Perseverance is the ability to keep going even when the journey becomes difficult, uncomfortable, or longer than expected. It is not just about being strong on your own. It is about trusting God while He strengthens you through the process.
Definition of the Word
Perseverance means steady persistence in doing what is right, even when there is pressure, delay, resistance, or discouragement.
Practical Lesson
Life will not always move at the speed we want it to. There will be seasons where progress feels slow and the process feels heavy. But perseverance teaches us that slow progress is still progress. The key is to keep showing up, keep doing what is right, and not allow discouragement to make us quit too soon.
Practical Application
This week, choose one area where you have been tempted to give up. Instead of walking away from it, take one small faithful step forward. Make the phone call. Finish the assignment. Pray again. Try again. Show up again. Do not focus on doing everything at once. Focus on taking the next right step.
Spiritual Application
God often uses the process to build what we cannot see yet. Perseverance reminds us that trials are not wasted when we place them in God’s hands. He uses pressure to produce maturity, patience, faith, and endurance. What feels like delay may actually be development.
Scripture
“And let steadfastness have its full effect, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing.
James 1:4 ESV
Carry This With You
Keep going. God is building something in you through the process.
Prayer
Lord, give me the strength to persevere when life feels difficult. Help me not to quit in the middle of what You are building in me. Teach me to trust Your timing, grow through the process, and keep walking with You even when the road is not easy. Amen.
